The Lotus

I see you.

I see your struggles

and your astonishing 

resilience.  I see that

you are complex, layered,

filled with hope and despair.

I see your beautiful heart

and your fear of judgement.

I feel the weight of your

trauma and the deep wounds

inflicted on you.

I see you beginning to

open up, to trust,

lifting your face to the light.

Knowing when to close

those petals tightly

for protection,

and when you are safe

to open your magnificent spirit.

You are the Lotus
